Mens 2XI
The University of Plymouth 2nd XI compete in GOCREA8 Southern 2 within the South West, and BUCS Western 4A.
The 2017/18 season saw the Mens 2nd XI finally end their dreaded curse as captain Doug Tilley led them to promotion to BUCS Western 3A after coming close in seasons before! A superb season in BUCS was also closely matched by a strong season in Southern 2, with only a damaging points deduction seeing the boys promotion from the league eluding them once again! Unfortunately the boys were not able to match the legendary herioc of the 2015/16 Supers 2s team in the Devon Trophy, but this does not take anything away from a great season for the boys!
With James Taylor and James Walton co-captaining the team in the 2018/19 season, can the boys push on in BUCS Western 3A, and finally secure promotion from Southern 2? To be continued...
Oh, and did we mention that they won the Devon Trophy for the first time in 17 years in the 2015/2016 season?
