UPHC 4XI vs East Devon C - a poem.
It was a grey and windy Saturday morning,
Josh Miller, was still in bed yawning.
This was it, hockey day,
The 4's were eager, and ready to play.
Their best result yet, was just last week,
Who knew this day would be so bleak.
Off they went, but Lycra got lost,
Blaming wurly, so did Ross.
The game began, off to a good start,
Playing hockey like it was an art.
One short corner in, scored against were we,
Tried to keep our heads up, but they dropped oh so quickly. A few good runs, from Jesus and Wadlow,
Just a shame really, that Jesus got elbowed.
Towards the end of the half, it looked like we would score, Until captain wurly got taken to the floor.
5 nil down at the end of the first,
We didn't think it could get any worse.
Reciprocity, was not in our play,
Perhaps on a day, that was a little less grey.
We may have scored, 1 or 2,
But alas our subs, we're just too few.
The game went on, the second half began,
It was then out of luck, we really ran.
Squeaky goals, and a ball or two let go,
The 4's were beginning, to run out of hope.
About half way through the second, a short could it be? If only Burchell, had let it first leave the D.
The game drew to a close, like the sky we felt grey, 10-0 the final score, on this, Hockey day.
