Match Report | MATCH REPORT: 09/01/16 It was a very moist Saturday afternoon/early evening. Rumours of 'getting down to the pitch early' completely ignored as the rain began to flood the pitch. Fears of cancellation began to ring around camp. However, despite the best efforts of the rain to ruin our game, (and excuses from the other team who clearly didn't want to be thrashed, especially in the rain), the game was to go ahead. We began to play some nice hockey as the torrential rain thundered down upon our heads. Quickly, we go 1-0 up with a goal I can only assume was Joe Campbell-Orde (it usually is). 2-0 then 3-0 to the delight of our home supporters. Ben Barnes was to eventually enter the field of play after giving chat of 'I would have finished that one' from the sideline, only to not live up to his word and not score. Lewis Gunn-Collingslots away a lovely drag following a slick short corner routine to put the game out of reach for our opponents. Joc slots away another 4 to add to his never ending tally, including another impossible angle reverse flick which confused both teams and sets of supporters. William Pelham put the icing on the cake to score only his second goal ever (I am told). Solid defense performances from our defense along with a blinding MOTM (personal opinion) performance from James Woolas ensured another clean sheet and another 9 goals to add to our ever increasing goal difference! Onto the next game where hopefully another similar result is not out of reach! Good game lads, and sorry for the inaccuracy of scorers etc |
